Search Operation Letters To Santa
 


Witches Fingers

Bat Line

Ingredients

bullet

1 cup butter, softened

bullet

1 cup confectioners sugar

bullet

1 egg

bullet

1 teaspoon almond extract

bullet

1 teaspoon vanilla

bullet

2 3/4 cup all purpose flour

bullet

1 teaspoon baking powder

bullet

1 teaspoon salt

bullet

3/4 cup whole blanched almonds

bullet

1 tube red decorator piping gel

Instructions

Vintage Halloween card
  1. Beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla

  2. Add flour, baking powder and salt

  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes

  4. Use1/4 of the dough at a time, while keeping the remainder refrigerated

  5. Roll heaping teaspoons full of dough into finger shapes for each cookie

  6. Press almond firmly into one end for the nail

  7. Lightly squeeze the center of the cookie to shape the knuckle, then lightly slash it in two or three places to simulate a knuckle

  8. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake in 325 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until a light golden color

  9. Let cool for three minutes

  10. Lift up almond while cookie is still warm and squeeze red decorator gel onto nail bed

  11. Press almond back into place so that red gel oozes out from underneath

  12. Remove from cookie sheet and let cook thoroughly

Makes about 5 dozen witches fingers
