You will need

A bag of old clothes (shirt, overalls, gloves, oversized boots or shoes, hat, etc) for each team. Garage sales are wonderful places to stock up on these items and your children will have a ball doing the shopping with you.

1. Divide your guests into teams

2. Each team then chooses one person to be the "scarecrow"

3. Provide each team with a bag of old clothes (make sure the number of items is identical in each bag)

4. When it is their turn, each team will reach into their bag of clothing, choosing one item only

5. That team member then races to the person being decorated as the "scarecrow" and helps that person don the item of apparel

6. As soon as the "scarecrow" has the item of clothing in place, the team member runs back to the starting point, and the next person begins the process all over again

7. The first team to have the bag empty, and the "scarecrow" completely outfitted wins.
