Santa's Favorite Recipes: Pumpkin Cookies
Ingredients

cups shortening
2
cups sugar
1
(16 oz.) can of pumpkin
2
eggs
2
teaspoons vanilla
4
cups all-purpose flour
2
teaspoons baking powder
2
teaspoons ground cinnamon
1
teaspoon baking soda
1
teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2
teaspoon ground allspice
2
cups raisins
1
cup chopped nuts

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add pumpkin, eggs and vanilla, beating well. Stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, ground nutmeg and ground allspice. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheet Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
