Ingredients

cups granulated sugar
1
cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1
stick butter ( not margarine)
1
cup milk
2
tablespoons light Karo syrup
4
cups pecan halves
2
teaspoons vanilla extract

Combine first 6 ingredients in saucepan. Cook about 20 minutes on medium heat until it comes to a boil. Boil, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a hard boil. Remove from heat; add vanilla and stir until mixture begins to lose it's gloss. Drop small portions onto waxed paper, working very fast. Keep saucepan over a low fire if it seems to harden too fast. Hint: Putting aluminum foil under wax paper will keep it from sticking to counter top. |
