Santa's Favorite Recipes: Eggnog Bar Cookies
Ingredients

cup butter or margarine, softened
1
cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons brandy or rum
2
1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1
teaspoon baking soda
1/4
teaspoon ground nutmeg
1
cup dairy or canned eggnog
1
cup chopped candied cherries
1/2
cup chopped almonds
3/4
cup powdered sugar, sifted
1/4
teaspoon salt
Milk
(3 to 4 teaspoons)

Cream butter and sugar; blend in 1 teaspoon brandy or rum flavoring. Sir flour with soda, nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Add alternately with eggnog to creamed mixture. Stir in cherries and nuts. Spread in 15.5x10.5x1" baking pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Mix powdered sugar, remaining 1/2 teaspoon brandy or rum and enough milk to make mixture pourable. Drizzle over warm cookies. Cool; cut into bars.
